ABOUT
Donica Merhazion is a writer and educator whose work explores identity, inheritance, and the stories we carry across generations. Her debut novel, Born at the End of the World (Catalyst Press), is rooted in her family’s experiences and shaped by the historical realities of the Horn of Africa.
Born during Ethiopia’s Red Terror, Donica draws on lived and inherited histories that inform her storytelling. She holds degrees in journalism, special education, and general education, and her work reflects a deep commitment to both story and learning.
She teaches in Nairobi, Kenya, where she encourages students to find their voice and engage meaningfully with the world.
I would love to stay connected with you. From time to time, I share reflections on story, identity, and the journey of writing, along with updates on the book and future work. If you’d like to be part of that, you’re welcome to join me here.
